Last Year In order to raise money for a local charity, Saudi Arabia’s Formula 1 Grand Prix promoter planned to build the world’s largest Lego brick Formula 1 racing car.
According to the country’s diversification plans for tourism, Saudi Arabia has hosted the Saudi Grand Prix previously in December 2021 which is set to take place every year till 2025, in the city of Jeddah on the Red Sea. Saudi Arabia has assembled the Lego brick Formula 1 car at the Red Sea Mall in Jeddah, which took place between September 10 and September 23 to put together. However the built was completed over a period of 10 day.
Reportedly, 504,202 bricks were used for the project, which were offered to purchase online. The reason was to benefit Ehsan, a Saudi platform for charitable work. The Built of this brick car was meant to be for a good cause.
It was for the first time ever, F1 to be held on a street circuit in Saudi Arabia. On the current F1 calendar, the Jeddah circuit is the second-longest, behind Belgium’s legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit, with 27 corners.
F1 having three Gulf races in 2021 with the addition of Saudi Arabia. Exactly one week after the season-opening race in Australia, the Bahrain Grand Prix was held.
Starting on September 15, the first brick laid by Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, adviser to Makkah Region’s governor and acting governor of Jeddah, and Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah al-Faisal of the Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation, chairman of the Federation (SAMF).

He further addressed, “There will be a new record breaker at the 2021 Formula One Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, as the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is set to become the longest and fastest street circuit in the world. In addition to giving back to our community, this project demonstrates our kingdom’s ingenuity and commitment to improving the lives of all of our citizens.”
Finally, on September 23 – Saudi Arabia’s National Day – Guinness World Records representatives proudly announced that the new world Record for the largest Lego Brick Formula 1 Car had successfully been achieved! which was covered by live stream. The Previous record for a Lego Brick Formula 1 car was set by Ferrari in 2019 using 350,000 bricks.
